MFB welcomes Geraldine Koon and Adam Vrahnos to the team.

June 9 2020

MFB is delighted to announce the arrival of Geraldine Koon and Adam Vrahnos to the firm, further strengthening MFB’s market leading capabilities in wet and dry shipping, marine insurance and the superyacht sector.

Geraldine joined us from another shipping and insurance law firm and advises on all aspects of wet and dry shipping, specialising in Admiralty matters such as collisions, unsafe port claims, cargo contamination, fires, engine breakdowns, salvage and general average. She regularly acts for shipowners, charterers, hull underwriters and P&I Clubs in multijurisdictional cases in London Arbitration and English Court proceedings and is also an experienced superyacht lawyer. Geraldine is a bilingual English and French native speaker and also speaks Spanish and conversational Mandarin.

Adam worked in commercial litigation and insolvency before moving into shipping and also joins us from the shipping department of a large firm and has experience advising on contentious matters ranging from charterparty disputes, bill of lading disputes, cargo damage claims and ship arrests to general commercial litigation and enforcement. He acts for shipowners, charterers, cargo interests, commodity traders and P&I clubs, as well as other parties in the supply chain, including freight forwarders and logistics providers. He is an Australian qualified lawyer, currently studying to qualify as an English Solicitor.

The arrival of Geraldine and Adam will further enhance MFB’s reputation for high-quality, cost effective and commercially-astute legal advice, as reflected in this year’s Legal 500: “The 'strong and experienced' team at specialist outfit MFB has a 'willingness to look at challenging scenarios, study and make it happen'”. We strive to be a firm that is large enough to handle the largest cases in the sectors we serve, but to remain small enough to provide a personal touch to our clients.
