Peter Harris joins MFB

MFB is pleased to announce the arrival of Peter Harris, who joins Partner Mike Mitchell and Helene Hunter-Davies in our Admiralty/Casualty team.

Peter is a Master Mariner with 18 years' seagoing and surveying/consultancy experience. He has an honours degree in Nautical Studies from Plymouth Polytechnic and became a solicitor in 1996.

Peter has served on reefer, general cargo, RoRo, container and offshore vessels and has acted as a marine surveyor/consultant to the shipping and offshore industries.
Formerly with a well-known international group P&I Club, Peter was a senior member of the P&I claims team with a specialist role which involved working closely with the international group secretariat in relation to the liquefaction of bulk cargoes.

Having also worked in the shipping departments of several large London law firms over a period of 19 years, Peter has a wealth of experience in all aspects of casualty and marine insurance work, including collision, salvage, wreck removal, unsafe ports, oil pollution, fixed object damage, bunker disputes, general average and cargo contamination.
