Peter Harris

Peter is a Master Mariner with 18 years’ seagoing and surveying / consultancy experience. He has served on reefer, general cargo, RoRo container and offshore vessels and acted as marine surveyor / consultant to the shipping and offshore industries. During this time Peter graduated with an honours degree in Nautical Studies from Plymouth Polytechnic.

Peter joined MFB in 2012 from an international group P&I Club, where he was a senior member of the P&I claims team with a specialist role which involved working closely with the international group secretariat in relation to the liquefaction of bulk cargoes. He has also worked in the shipping departments of large London law firms, specialising in all aspects of casualty and marine insurance work including collision, salvage, wreck removal, unsafe ports, oil pollution, fixed object damage, bunker disputes, general average and cargo contamination.
